Podcast interview with Rhodium Group, Washington: Beijing has no fiscal leeway. What does it mean for Xi Jinping's China?
In this podcast [min. 48], Insightview.eu has talked with Logan Wright (Partner) and Rogan Quinn (Research Analyst) from Rhodium Group about China's strained fiscal situation and the implications this has for the political leadership in Beijing. This podcast aims to provide a better picture of why China today faces historically high public debt and what this means for Chinese policymakers as they navigate what appears to be one of the most significant crises since 1989.
 ‌
‌‌‌‌We first discuss China's asymmetrical distribution of revenues and expenditures in the public sector (central government versus local governments) – and the many ways of financing sources in the public sector. Insightview.eu also asks the two China experts how severe the current in China is - and what happens if President Xi Jinping continues on a path of more Ideology and less market economy? [Read also the Rhodium Group article, The Myth of China's Fiscal Space | Rhodium Group].
