Podcast interview with three China experts about the just-ended NPC Two Sessions meeting in Beijing. China-EU investment deal at risk? Taiwan next in line with the 'reunification' plan? China backpedalling on carbon emission?
In this podcast [47 min.], Insightview asks three China experts how they view China after the National People’s Congress just ended its Two Sessions in Beijing, held last week. The meeting sets an economic blueprint for the next five years – or more precisely, the blueprint was already decided by the Communist party’s leadership.

Insightview talks with Jens Eskelund, [0-15:30] Vice President of the European Chamber in China, about the most important economic news from the meeting. Jens Eskelund, who is also managing director of Maersk China Ltd., came to China in 1998 and lives in Beijing.

Insightview also talks with Casper Wichmann, [15:30-27:40] coordinator and daily manager of the Danish think tank, Think-China, at the University of Copenhagen, about China's plan to become the leading tech player in the world. Casper specializes in Chinese digital platforms, technology and innovation. Casper will also address the possibility of the final ratification of the investment deal made between Beijing and Brussels.

Last but not least, Insightview talks with Camilla Noerup Soerensen, [27:40-47:00] associate professor at the Department of Strategy at the Royal Danish Defense College in Copenhagen, in the last part of the podcast about China's most important military and foreign policy goals, not least in Asia.

The topics discussed are economic growth drivers, carbon emission targets (is China backpedalling?), self-reliance and China's goal of becoming a technological leader. Moreover, we discuss the China-EU investment deal seen in the context of the latest amendments to Hongkong Law and accusations by several organisations of genocide in the province of Xinjiang. Furthermore, we discuss whether Taiwan is next in line with Beijing's reunification plan.
